D-Day Hampshire US Connections

This day tour combines panoramic guided tours to Southwick village and the New Forest with visits to the superb D-Day Museum and Southwick House. We hear revealing stories of the impact upon the local community of the presence of Eisenhower and Montgomery’s command teams and experience locations that still give an authentic feel of the human endeavours that enabled the greatest combined amphibious operation in history to take place in June 1944.

On this tour you could:
  • A full day tour led by your very own local Blue Badge Guide with private transport.

  • Discover fascinating accounts of bravery, endeavour and innovation amongst the artefacts on display at the D-Day Museum Portsmouth. • Enjoy commanding views on a guided tour to Southwick House to visit the map room where the plans for D-day were coordinated and General Eisenhower gave the command ‘Let’s Go!’.
